Fixed some minor issues and committing ref player beta on behalf of @mcferren

Thanks Ben!! Ben was nice enough to take his spare time to help change the layout of the reference player. Still is a work in progress but is mostly complete. We need to get the current ref player new menu ported over and some other items/issue remain open. We are adding this to the samples along side of the current player tagged as beta for now until we are ready to make it official.
